48 hours in San Fransisco and we are feeling the CHILLED vibe after the craziness of New York.
What an amazing city. The beautiful backdrop of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, the noisy, barking sea lions - all 315 of them - at Pier 39 yesterday (Sophia couldn't understand why she couldn't just take a small one home), and the juxtaposition of the City Skyscrappers next to the quaint Victorian homes, cable cars, trams and zig-zagging Lombard Street.
We strolled along Pier 39, had a boat tour around the Bay, walked up the steepest hill to walk down Lombard Street and had a delicious seafood meal overlooking the Pacific and Alcatraz!
Oh and Jake lost his first tooth. Eating a chicken drumstick!
Today we thought we'd hire some bikes to go and see the Golden Gate Bridge, Dave on a tandem with Jake.
We ended up 30km later having cycled accross the Bridge, gone to Sausalito for lunch, the Old Mill Park Redwoods to hug a tree, then along and around the Bay to beautiful Tiburon where we caught the ferry back. Sophia absolutely excelled herself and exceeded our expectations winning the title of 'Queen of the Hills'! A cold beer never tasted so good!! We decided a night in and a carpet/ TV dinner was in order for the evening - small luxuries!
